FGM/C in the Seminar of review of gender equality policies, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, 6th October

A Seminar of review of gender equality policies was organized by Professors Esperança Bosch and Victoria Ferrer at the Universitat de les Illes Balears on 6 October 2017, as an activity of the Master in Gender Equality policies and prevention of Gender Based Violence. The Gender Equality Observatory was invited to adress FGM/C, with a conference by Laura Nuño Gómez on “Interculturalism, harmful practices and triple alterity: female genital mutilation” (http://sac.uib.cat/act_sac/formacio/17-18/seminari-politiques-igualtat/).

Beside, Professor Nuño has also given a conference at the Summer course “Beyond the limits of the law against Gender based violence” which was organized on 17-19^Th July by the Universidad Nacional de Enseñanza a Distancia in Denia. Thes invitations to train on FGM/C in other universities shows that there is a growing interest about FGM/C in the field of academic gender studies in Spain.
